I am a Licensed Psychologist in the Seattle/Bellevue Washington area.
There is so much power when positive change develops in individuals, teens, children, and families.
I have worked in a variety of settings that include mental health centers, schools, and of course, private practice.
I am excited and enjoy my work! I have specialized training in working with children, teens, families, and adults.
Life can be difficult and people do suffer. However, I have always been curious by people’s resiliency and great capabilities to flourish.
I like to think of myself as a ‘science-based’ practitioner. The approaches I use carry a weight of research behind them. I work hard to use strategies and teach methods that work! Of course, one method won’t fit with every person, so I collaborate with my clients to find what does. Often this means, I am coach, a teacher, and even an investigator with my clients.
I generally use Cognitive-Behavioral strategies to work with my clients.
This means that we explore relationships between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We work on detecting and then changing underlying and automatic negative thought patterns that can keep us stuck in our unhappiness.
In addition to these explorations, I frequently recommend and teach Mindfulness Meditation to help reduce anxiety and depression symptoms.
I also work quite heavily with families so this means I use a Family Systems approach – often our thoughts, feelings, and actions can be influenced by family interactions.
